Welcome
If you are on this page you or your school have been invited to join us for a performance at Riverlights in October 2024

speakDance collaborative dance and documentary aims to combine forces with local dancers and dance groups, to make a combined dance that we can perform together on the main stage of riverlights as part of the final. It has involved community members coming together to share cultural knowledge in the form of dance to learn and appreciate each other’s cultures.

For us the truest joy of multiculturalism is valuing and learning about the diversity and richness of Australian cultural mix. As dancers we feel that dance is our “first language ” and we are able to speak that language with each other and create something entirely new. Below there are some of the steps we are using so far and the first part of the chorus line.

We would like to encourage you and your class to participate in the dance by learning the steps , engaging with cultural practices and if possible learning the courses as we create them.
please keep an eye on this page as we will update it as the project grows.
